High School Diploma or GED
Must respond to overtime and callouts.
Must have Control Board Operator experience (Preferably on Factory talk), completed a control operator/specialist apprenticeship (or equivalent), and with a minimum of 2 years' experience operating a large, combined cycle power/coal plant (or equivalent).
Must commit to working safely and adhere to Company safety rules including wearing a hardhat, safety toe footwear, and protective eye wear, and Proper Protective Equipment (PPE).
Successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a drug screening test and a general security clearance.
Must work rotating shifts.
Candidates will be required to pass a written and practical test prior to selection. Knowledge of equipment operation such as pumps, control valves, motor controls with integrated power plant operations experience and is able to demonstrate general control operator knowledge through testing and/or interview.
