High school graduate or equivalent.
Prior experience as rehabilitation technician is preferred, but not mandatory.
Able to provide rationale for, and safely apply all physical agents/modalities as directed with knowledge of all precautions/contraindications.
Able to work within the companies EMR system as needed to accurately and efficiently assist with patient care.
Able to work standard scanner/PC/fax, and adjust necessary exercise equipment for patient care activity.
Able to provide clear, positive communication, both orally and in writing, with all staff and patents.
Able to function effectively as part of the BJIT/BJRS team of physicians, physician assistants, medical assistants, nurse practitioners, technicians, athletic trainers and physical / occupational therapists.
Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work in a safe manner.
Ability to handle sharps and biohazardous materials within safety guidelines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
Out-patient rehabilitation care in multidisciplinary team rehabilitation setting
May be exposed to risk of blood-borne pathogens/diseases.
Able to communicate clearly in English written and verbally.
Prolonged standing, walking for length of work shift.
Frequently lifts, positions, transfers, and pushes patients.
Frequently moves supplies and equipment requiring moderate physical effort (lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.).
Full mobility of limbs and trunk, and full manual dexterity and mobility.
Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Occasionally removes or replaces supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. from locations at or above shoulder level.
Lift and / or carry patients with necessary assistance / assistive devices in case of emergency evacuation.
