High School diploma and/or equivalent.
Four years of welding experience; or, Completion of an accredited four-year welder's training program; or, Completion of an accredited two-year welder's training program and two years of welding experience; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Skill in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures.
Knowledge of applicable codes.
Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG, TIG, controlled atmosphere, and plasma cutting), tools and equipment.
Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques.
Skill in heat treating and thermal spraying.
